Ocho Cafe: Reviews & Ratings

We recently visited again and overall had a very good experience, which is why I’m keeping this at five stars. The food was very good, the service was friendly and efficient, and the restaurant itself is clean, spacious, and welcoming. That said, I did want to mention a couple of things in hopes they’re taken constructively. During our visit, the draft beer system was not working, which was disappointing. Also, on both visits, an older gentleman (possibly the owner or manager) stood off to the side watching the room with a very serious demeanor. It created an uncomfortable feeling, as if guests were doing something wrong, and when we said good night upon leaving, the response felt dismissive. Again, the food, service, and overall quality are strong, which is why we continue to come back and why I’m leaving this review with five stars. I’m sharing this feedback in hopes it’s helpful, because addressing these small issues would really elevate the overall experience.

We had a wonderful experience here on a Saturday night. The food was excellent, the service was attentive, and even with a large party and reservations, everything ran smoothly with no wait at all. One small note: there was a gentleman near the hostess stand who appeared to be closely observing the dining room. While I’m sure it came from a place of care and attention, it occasionally felt a bit intense as a guest. A warmer or more relaxed presence up front would make an already great experience feel even more welcoming. Overall, a fantastic restaurant that we’d happily return to and recommend.

The food and drinks were both very good and the service was amazing. Plenty of parking and they have a very nice bar inside.

This was such an awesome find for my family and I while on a road trip to Bar Harbor! It was so great, we planned our return trip to stop and eat there again! The food was FANTASTIC! I HIGHLY recommend the French tacos - to die for. The staff was so incredible: kind, attentive, and just perfect with timing. We all said it was the best Mexican food we'd ever had outside of our fave place back home. I can't wait until our next vacation: we've made stopping and eating at Ocho a staple. Please treat yourself to this amazing place, wonderful staff, and phenomenal food!

Great atmosphere and fajitas. Solo traveler friendly. The food came out quick and was very good. Large portions for a reasonable price. 10/10 will visit again.

Really enjoyed this authentic Mexican restaurant and would return to try everything on the menu! Multiple times I saw the staff hustling around working hard and fast to take care of guests. Happy and upbeat vibe here, with colorful and inviting decor that makes you feel at home. The food was great - large portions - we ate everything and could hardly move after! Yummy Sangria, too!

I have gone to many Mexican restaurants and this is on the top 3. The beef nachos were delicious. Loved the margaritas with tamarind, the taste was perfect, on point. I wasn’t a fan of the shredded chicken nachos or the tacos de asada.

Visited here tonight. Food was outstanding. My husband ordered the Torero Margarita and Deluxe Burrito, he said it was one of the best margaritas and burritos he has ever had at any Mexican restaurant. I had the Tacos De Asada it was okay. Charros were delicious! Crunchy. Service was outstanding!!
